The first priority of all staff members is the safety of all persons on the water and on land. The second priority is the safety and maintenance of all rowing equipment. The third priority is the safety and maintenance of the PRC building and its equipment. Failure to follow PRC Safety policies can be grounds for suspension of rower privileges or expulsion.

The Pocock Rowing Center is a SafeSport boathouse. SafeSport aims to eliminate any form of sexual misconduct, emotional misconduct, physical misconduct, bullying, harassment and hazing in our sport. Developed by the United States Olympic Committee, the SafeSport program is required by USRowing. The program is based on education and training as well as reporting and enforcement policies that include criminal background checks of all Pocock Rowing Center staff.
